Mobility Care Center
The grievance load has increased-- Tina and Mamie are handling more and they need to be commended. As we seek additional job stewards in the care center arena, just keep up the good work.

Relocaton Calls
The care center is doing relo calls, due to the fact the Iphone sales were not as successful as they once thought. To keep the call center working, they are now taking relocaton calls.

AT&T Retail Stores
We have 15 stores in our local, and we have visited 9 of those stores. For the most part, the managers are welcoming us in the store and even will set up saturday meeting with their employees with CWA. This is like the new hire orientation, the managers can't answer their questions. In the next week we have an aggressive schedule to try to get as many employees on blue cards. If you are in the stores doing your personal business, speak up about the union and let them know we are on our way.

Retail
We now have 230 potential members in 15 stores in Atlanta and Norcross. Our first retail meeting netted 100% signup! Talk up the Union when you go into the stores and refer interested folks to us at the Local.

Pensions and Benefits AT&T
Wireless' pensions and benefits contract will expire in June. Be advised that if an agreement cannot be reached at the Bargaining table the case will go before an arbitrator. NOW is the time for the Company to see us mobilizing and unified .

Slowdown
The Activation Center in Norcross wasn't the only center handling the IPhone. They didn't get the rush they were expecting and now the center is offering lots of E-time. Please be mindful of the risk in taking excessive amounts of Etime so you don't deliver the wrong message to the Company that you don't need your job.

Where are you CWA? I have concerns!

We Hear you! As some of you know, after getting the recognition there was a 45 day wait period for CWA to speak to any employee. The wait period is over and it's time to answer all of your concerns. We have created a Questions and Answer flyer from some of the questions and concerns already ask. We are coming to a store near you. CWA tried to set up a meet and greet at the union hall and that was not successful. We were told that a meeting on Sunday after 6pm is probably the best time for most of the employees. We are going to make another attempt of setting up a meeting/forum. We?ll keep you posted.

How is my Vacation days calculated? 1 week of vacation time when you complete 6 months, 2 weeks upon completion of 12 months, 3 weeks upon completion of 5 years or more but less than 10 years of service, 4 weeks of vacation who completed 10 years but less than 20 years and 5 weeks upon completion of 20 years or more (article 22 of contract book)

When can I enroll in the Bargained for employees Medical Benefits? Open enrollment is NOW, you are able to go on line today and enroll. Or call 877-722-0020.

What is Family Medical Leave Act of 1993 (FMLA)? FMLA is a federal law that will protect you from discipline when you or your family is sick. You need to have work 1250 hrs to be eligible and have 12 months of service. For more information please call.

How does the illness sick pay timework? (Article 21 sections 6) Employee with Net credited services of 1 year but less than 5 years to be to paid after 2 days 5 years but less that 8 years, to be paid after 1 day and 8 years and over no wait period. AT&T has a point system and depending on how long your were late or absence, that incident will have a point value, example 5 to 30 minutes .25 point value, 31 to 120 minutes .50 value, 121-full day 1.00 point

What is a grievance? Contract violations or complaints by the an employee (Article 7)

When can I ask for union representation? Weingarten rights is a Federal law that states, any employee may ask for union representation when they feel a conversation with a manager may lead to discipline, or if you are in a investigation meeting with any official person from the company

Can I be denied union representation? If a manager is requesting to speak to you, your first question should be, is this meeting a discipline or an investigatory meeting? If they state yes, then ask for a union rep. If they refuse to give you the opportunity to get a union rep, the Law states you have a right to not participate in that meeting.

Now that we are recognized by CWA, what are some of the benefits? Having a voice in the workplace, seniority rights, a Federal recognized Union contract, Union discounts, having a say on items going to the bargaining table. Guarantee raises, job security, Low Cost Health benefits to name a few.

How much are the union dues and where does that money go? 1.25 hour per pay period. Example, your hourly rate is $10.00 divided by 1.25= 12.50

When do I get a raise? There are 2 ways, if you are not at top pay in your job title, you will receive a raise every 6 months and then you will also receive a contract raise in the month of April. If you are at top pay, you will only receive the contract raise in April in a Lump sum based on the negotiated percentage.

Night Differential and Sunday pay; what is that? As of January 13th, Night Differential and Sunday pay was in effect, if you worked any night or Sunday and didn't get the differential, please ask your supervisor to submit it. (Article 19)

Is there any reprisal for calling the union? No, if you feel that your coach is targeting you because your filed a grievance or call the union, please don't wait, call us immediately.

How are tours selected? Seniority

When can I bid for another position in AT&T Mobility? (Article 13) employees have to meet 12 months of time-in-title and location requirements before they can submit bids in the bargaining unit.

What is exchange time? Exchange time allows an employee to request time off during a scheduled workday to be made up within the workweek. Granting of exchange time will be at the company discretion and shall be based upon factors as the company, in it's judgment, believes relevant.

Can I see my personnel records? Yes upon written request an employee shall be permitted to examine their personnel records (page 46)

I haven't picked my vacation days, is there a time frame on when the vacation selection has to be completed?
The vacation selection should commence on 11/1 and be completed by 12/31 of each year. (Article 22 section 6)
