Avaya: Global Services Delivery Business Expectations
We have been made aware that Avaya has released the Global Services Delivery fiscal year 2008 field NAR business expectations. We have serious concerns with this document.

CWA reminds all our members that we do not sign anything. Do not click the "Submit" button; rather, just close both of the programs.

Technicans:
Stop doing work for free
Several techs are logging in before their tour to get their jobs, and in the same breath the company is dinging you for being 5 minutes late via GPS. There will be mobilization activities for all avaya techs to stop giving free labor and start their jobs at their reporting locations.

Surplus
Also, this week avaya announced a surplus of 2 tech in Far 2. The ERC person Theresa Inman has set up calls to go over all the details pertaining to the surplus.

Care Center
Management changes
Paulette Carter has left the building and we have a new Director, named Darrly Somebody, CWA will set up a meet and greet.

Work moving locations
Some of our atlanta work has been shipped to our sister city in Ok city. We are looking into that and hopefully we have an answer of why, but understand people, CWA can't tell the company how to ruin, I mean run their business.

SOSC
Want to thank the 5 members who took the VTP for their hard work and loyalty to CWA over the years, you'll be missed. For those who are left, I won't say the writing is on the wall, but we need to tell our members to utilize all the educational programs that CWA has bargained for to make ourselves more marketable, just in case. Let's not wait until something happens, it might be too late.

Bargaining
There is just over a year til the expiration of our contract. This is a new Company and they have their own agenda. We are in a brand new situation and we are prearing for bargaining with that in mind.

GPS
Our techs are now feeling what BST has been going through. GPS is no joke. The Company can AND WILL track you everywhere so be where you're supposed to be.

VTP
Seven of our people took the offer including our steward Rita Scott. Her retirment is effective 2/23/08 and we will miss her at Data Dr.

RATS
Security Investigations prompted by a single tattle-tale have resulted in labor charges because the Company refused to provide the individual's name. Since these were not ethics charges the Labor Board agreed that the Company must turn over the person's name.

Management Shakeup
WE have been advised there will be changes in management because we are "top heavy."

First-Step Grievances
We have been dealing with getting managers to set up dates for first-step grievances.

Floating Holiday
Some people had an issue with CWA picking one of their floating holidays. CWA did pick MLK day because Dr. King's work was a testament to his dedication to Labor. We invite all members to the Local to celebrate with us for the annual March and Rally on Jan 21st.
