| Communications Workers of America (CWA), America's largest communica-tions and media union, represents over 700,000 men and women in both private and public sectors, including over half a million workers who are building the Information Highway.
Local 3204 represents approximately 4600 telecommunications craft employees in AT&T and AVAYA policing 10 different contracts.
As a democratic union, CWA elects its leaders by direct vote of the membership, at both the international and local levels. In our local, all dues-paying members have the right to vote -- and run -- in elections to pick our four officers and five other Executive Board members. |

Local members also vote to pick our delegates to district and international conventions. Officers, Vice-Presidents, Stewards and staff handle day-to-day decisions with direction from the board. Our contracts set wages and defines benefits, working conditions and job security for all represented employees in our bargaining units. The Contracts are negotiated by designated committees of CWA members, officers, and staff. When the two sides reach tentative agreement on a contract, the pact is submitted to the membership for a ratification vote |
