Company is reinforcing OP78 security guidelines. For example : unlocked trucks, unlocked go book cabinets, keys to buildings or CEVs being unsecured.
Technicians working second or third shifts need to monitor your pay stubs for night differential errors by payroll. Some techs have been getting double night differential pay due to the fact that they have been instructed to populate the night differential box when submitting their time via GCAS. THE COMPANY HAS BEEN TAKING THE DIFFERENCE BACK ALL AT ONE TIME IN SOME CASES. It was reported by one tech that the minimum deduction has been around $500 dollars per paycheck. AND THIS IS DURING HOLIDAY SEASON.
I am asking all technicians to report any request from managers for service technicians to go into unmanned central offices to do frame work. It is ok to green coil at the frame, but I was in a morning tailgate session with a supervisor and he instructed a technician who had previous frame wiring experience to go into the central office and assist other technicians when needing pair changes.
Managers are driving around looking for techs who are driving around on the phone, personal or company, go books open while driving, or texting while driving. Please pull off to the side of the road if you need to perform any of these task. Several techs have been suspended by company for this already.
Techs need to follow all safety guidelines when going into manholes or CEV's. Expecially waiting for the entrance light to turn green or waiting ten minutes before descending into a CEV. This is a safety and health concern. Also make sure that there are fire extinguishers in all CEVs and that the inspection stickers are up to date.
Vacation selection should be completed by December 15th.
