October has been an extremely busy month full of LGP meetings and grievance meetings along with several AP Investigation meetings.
People; please make sure if you are asked to speak with an Investigator from Asset Protection, you cover your assets. Make sure you have a job steward present by calling the Local @ (404)688-1256. NEVER sign any statement from AP or your manager because, if there are errors in the report that are not caught it is as if you just admitted to it. NEVER go into a meeting with management without a steward present. It is up to you to enforce your Weingarten Rights!
The LGP meeting at Mobility Call Center was pretty productive. We have seen emails around Metrics starting to flow out to our membership with many more to follow. Also in Mobility, remember, we are heading into contract year and want everyone standing strong together. Wear black shirts on Black Out Fridays. We are currently trying to get to each store location to hand out shirts or get sizes so we can make a second order.
Even though we are not having a Union Meeting this month, PLEASE be sure to get out and VOTE!!! This is one Right we have that hasn’t been taken from us, yet!
As we discussed last month, Google Fiber is trying to do a “one touch” in our area. If you are out and see contractors working on our plant, please call the Local and ask for Susan Moss, myself or President Ed Barlow. Each move they do is a job that our OPT’s should be doing.
As the Holidays fast approach let us take time to spend with Family and Friends. We never know what tomorrow holds. Remember the Soldiers who stand on foreign soil defending our Liberties and are unable to spend the Holidays with friends and family. If you see someone in need, don’t be afraid to reach-out and help them. You will be the one Blessed!
Here are you Weingarten Rights
Whenever you are asked to meet with management or reasonably believe that what you say may affect your job, read this statement and invoke your Weingarten Rights:
“If this discussion could in any way lead to me being disciplined or terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I respectfully request that my union representative, officer, or steward be present at the meeting. Without representation, I choose not to answer any questions.”
